Mom's Chocolate Frosting

2 1/2 squares unsweetened chocolate
2 c. powdered sugar
3 tbsp. hot water
1/3 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg*

Melt chocolate in microwave. Beat in powdered sugar and hot water, then remaining ingredients. Place bowl in iced water and beat until thick and creamy.

*Bim uses 2 egg yolks instead of 1 whole egg if she has them left over from her cake recipe.
